Embark on a transformative journey into the heart of Africa’s wildlife conservation efforts with our 5-Day Africa’s Big 5 Conservation Program. This experience begins with an intimate encounter with the endangered southern white rhinos, guided by dedicated conservationists. Participants will engage directly with the coordinators of the rhino conservation project, learning about the critical work being done to protect these majestic animals before trekking on foot through their habitat under the watchful guidance of skilled experts.
The adventure continues to Uganda’s largest conservation area, where participants will have the opportunity to encounter the remaining members of Africa’s iconic Big 5—lions, elephants, buffalos, and leopards. Led by seasoned conservationists, you’ll gain a deep understanding of these species’ current status, conservation challenges, and ongoing efforts to preserve their natural habitats.
Accommodation is in the heart of the wild, immersing participants in the authentic experience of spending nights where these giants roam freely. This setting provides a profound connection to the animals and landscapes we aim to protect for future generations. The program also includes exploration of the breathtaking Murchison Falls, the world’s strongest waterfall, where wildlife converges along the mighty River Nile for sustenance and respite.

Day-by-Day



DAY 1 . ARRIVAL AT EBB INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT-Uganda Africa
Tukwaniriza ! Welcome to the "Pearl of Africa" – Uganda.
You will arrive at Entebbe International Airport where you will be welcomed by your Regenerative Safari Ventures representative and later we transfer you to your eco-friendly accommodation facility to relax you off and get you ready for a once in a life time regenerative adventure. If you cant wait, Optionally, there is a Mabamba Shoebill conservation program or downtown shopping at the local fruit market. Otherwise, you can relax at the lodge and tone down the jetlag.
If you choose to take the Mabamba shoebill tracking excursion on Lake Victoria, the departure is at 2:30 pm or 3:00 pm. A driver will pick you up from the lodge and transfer you to the jetty, where you’ll catch a motorized canoe to Mabamba Swamps. The boat will slow down to spot the shoebill, usually wadding in the long swampy grass. The shoebill is a massive stork-like bird with a grotesque bill that looks like a shoe. It is believed to have lived through the dino age, occupying the East and Central African mashes. It’s a popular attraction among birding enthusiasts and conservationists as its under serious threat of extinction.
The excursion can take 3-4 hours and is managed by an expert birding and conservation guides who will show you more swamp inhabitants, including the African Fish Eagle, Purple Swampy, African Green Pigeon, African Jacana, African Marsh Harrier, African Pigmy Goose, Black Crake, Black Heron, Black-crowned Night Heron, Black-crowned Waxbill, Black-headed Heron, Black-winged Stilt, Blue Swallow, Blue-cheeked Bee-eater.

Day 2: Rhino Conservation Immersion
On Day 2, participants will journey into the heart of southern white rhino territory to witness the incredible efforts to conserve these gentle giants, who remain critically threatened by extinction. The day begins with an in-depth engagement with the dedicated project coordinators at the rhino conservation project, offering an inside look at their tireless efforts to protect these majestic creatures. Following this, participants will trek alongside skilled conservationists and expert guides, getting up close with the rhinos in their natural habitat. This unique, on-foot experience not only provides a deeper connection to the wildlife but also immerses participants in hands-on conservation activities, such as habitat restoration or anti-poaching initiatives. Through these efforts, participants will actively contribute to the preservation of one of Africa’s most iconic species while gaining a profound understanding of their role in safeguarding biodiversity for future generations.
Additionally, expect to have lunch and refreshment breaks with the rhinos before checking in to your eco-friendly accomodation for dinner more refreshments and overnight.

Day 3: Exploring Murchison Falls and Africa’s Big 4
Day 3 takes participants deep into the magnificent Murchison Falls Conservation Area, Uganda’s largest protected conservation haven. Home to an astounding diversity of wildlife, including 144 mammal species, 556 bird species, 51 reptiles, and 51 amphibians, this area is a living testament to nature's splendor. The focus of this day will be on encountering four members of Africa’s Big 5: lions, leopards, buffalos, and elephants. Participants will meet with conservation project coordinators to gain valuable insights into key conservation efforts and the challenges of preserving this incredible biodiversity. Later, a guided game drive through the conservation area offers unparalleled opportunities to observe these iconic species in their natural habitats. Guided by skilled personnel and conservationists, participants will not only marvel at these majestic animals but also actively contribute to their conservation through hands-on activities, creating a meaningful connection to the ecosystem they are helping to protect.
Back at the Lodge, as the night cools down, you have a roaring campfire and local songs to look forward to, as well as a deep relaxation, perfect for soothing any aching muscles after a day of exploring the African savannah bushes.

Day 4: Immersive Wildlife and the Majesty of Murchison Falls
On Day 4, the adventure delves deeper into the Murchison Falls Conservation Area, offering participants more opportunities to witness the wild moments that define this extraordinary ecosystem. With its rich biodiversity of over 144 mammals, 556 bird species, 51 reptiles, and 51 amphibians, the day’s focus remains on encountering the Big 4—lions, leopards, buffalos, and elephants. Participants will continue their collaboration with conservation project coordinators, gaining further insight into efforts to protect these majestic species. Guided by skilled personnel and conservationists, participants will partake in conservation activities and embark on another guided game drive to explore the park's stunning landscapes and wildlife.
The day also highlights the awe-inspiring centerpiece of the park: Murchison Falls. Here, the River Nile forcefully squeezes through a narrow 7-meter gorge and cascades 45 meters below, creating one of nature's most breathtaking spectacles. Participants will enjoy a boat cruise to the base of the falls, providing an incredible perspective of the wildlife-rich riverbanks, home to crocodiles, hippos, and countless waterbirds. The convergence of wildlife at the river's edge adds to the excitement and wonder. If time permits, participants may also visit the top of the falls for a breathtaking aerial view of this natural marvel, ensuring an unforgettable experience. Later, they will retreat to their eco-accommodation for dinner, reflection, and overnight rest amidst the tranquility of the wild.

Day 5: Final Wild Encounters and Journey Back
On Day 5, participants will embark on one final adventure into the heart of Murchison Falls Conservation Area, soaking up the last moments of this unparalleled wildlife haven. The day offers more opportunities to marvel at the wonders of the largest conservation area in Uganda. The focus will remain on encountering the Big 4—lions, leopards, buffalos, and elephants—while engaging with conservation project coordinators and learning more about the ongoing efforts to protect these majestic species and their habitats.
Participants will join a guided game drive led by skilled personnel and conservationists, providing both thrilling encounters and a deeper understanding of the importance of sustainable conservation efforts. As the day concludes, the journey transitions to a scenic drive back to Kampala or the airport, offering time to reflect on the transformative experiences of the program. This farewell marks the end of a remarkable journey, leaving participants with lasting memories, a stronger connection to Africa’s wildlife, and a profound understanding of the collective responsibility to preserve these natural treasures for future generations.
