This program takes you deep into the heart of mountain gorilla habitats, offering you an intimate look at the efforts to protect these critically endangered primates. As part of the program, you’ll explore the natural beauty of their ecosystem, spend time with some Mountain Gorilla families while gaining insights from conservation experts about the challenges and triumphs in safeguarding their survival. Day-by-Day



DAY 1 . ARRIVAL AT EBB INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT-Uganda Africa
Tukwaniriza ! Welcome to the "Pearl of Africa" – Uganda.
You will arrive at Entebbe International Airport where you will be welcomed by your Regenerative Safari Ventures representative and later we transfer you to your eco-friendly accommodation facility to relax you off and get you ready for a once in a life time regenerative adventure. If you cant wait, Optionally, there is a Mabamba Shoebill conservation program or downtown shopping at the local fruit market. Otherwise, you can relax at the lodge and tone down the jetlag.
If you choose to take the Mabamba shoebill tracking excursion on Lake Victoria, the departure is at 2:30 pm or 3:00 pm. A driver will pick you up from the lodge and transfer you to the jetty, where you’ll catch a motorized canoe to Mabamba Swamps. The boat will slow down to spot the shoebill, usually wadding in the long swampy grass. The shoebill is a massive stork-like bird with a grotesque bill that looks like a shoe. It is believed to have lived through the dino age, occupying the East and Central African mashes. It’s a popular attraction among birding enthusiasts and conservationists as its under serious threat of extinction.
The excursion can take 3-4 hours and is managed by an expert birding and conservation guides who will show you more swamp inhabitants, including the African Fish Eagle, Purple Swampy, African Green Pigeon, African Jacana, African Marsh Harrier, African Pigmy Goose, Black Crake, Black Heron, Black-crowned Night Heron, Black-crowned Waxbill, Black-headed Heron, Black-winged Stilt, Blue Swallow, Blue-cheeked Bee-eater.

DAY 2 : Transfer Bwindi Impenetrable Gorilla Forest, Stops At Local Artisan Projects & Equator Experience.
On Day 2, the journey takes us closer to the heart of gorilla conservation as we transfer to the magnificent Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Along the way, we’ll make memorable stopovers at iconic points of interest, beginning with the Equator landmarks, where you’ll have the opportunity to capture stunning photos and experience unique cultural demonstrations. We’ll then visit traditional craft-making projects, offering an authentic glimpse into local artistry and the chance to support these talented artisans. The scenic drive will also include brief stops at breathtaking viewpoints and cultural landmarks that reflect the rich heritage of the region. By late afternoon, we’ll arrive at our eco-accommodation nestled near Bwindi Forest, where you can unwind, savor a delicious dinner, and prepare for the incredible adventures awaiting you in the days ahead.

DAY 3 : Gorilla Conservation & Community Engagement Activities
On this day, you will embark on a transformative journey into the heart of mountain gorilla conservation eco-systems. Be ready to spend the day exploring the lush, biodiverse landscapes of their habitat, guided by experts who will share fascinating insights into the lives of these endangered giants. Witness firsthand the delicate balance required to protect these incredible primates from threats such as habitat loss and poaching. Later in the day, deepen your impact through meaningful community engagement activities. Join local communities in sustainable initiatives that support conservation efforts, such as tree planting, eco-friendly craft-making, and cultural exchanges. This program not only offers participants a profound connection with one of the world’s most remarkable species but also empowers them to be active contributors to a holistic conservation approach that benefits both wildlife and the communities working tirelessly to protect them. Back at the Lodge, as the night cools down, you have a roaring campfire and local songs to look forward to, as well as a deep massage, perfect for soothing any aching muscles after a day of hiking.

Day 4: Community-Based Conservation Engagements
Day 4 immerses us in the heart of community-driven conservation efforts surrounding Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. The day begins with hands-on involvement in various activities alongside local community projects dedicated to preserving this critical ecosystem. From tree planting initiatives to sensitization campaigns, participants will actively contribute to sustaining the forest's biodiversity. You'll also have the opportunity to learn traditional craft-making techniques and engage in meaningful exchanges of ideas with community members, fostering mutual understanding and empowerment. As the day winds down, if time permits, we’ll venture to one of the nearby serene lakes, such as Lake Bunyonyi or Lake Mutanda, where you can relax and reflect on the day’s impactful experiences while enjoying the tranquil beauty of Uganda’s natural landscapes.

Day 5: Scenic Return and Program Conclusion
On Day 5, we embark on a journey back to Kampala/Entebbe, reflecting on the impactful experiences and memories created during the program. Our return follows a scenic route, offering breathtaking views of Uganda's rolling hills, lush landscapes, and vibrant local life. Along the way, we make multiple stops at points of interest, providing opportunities for photography, cultural appreciation, and storytelling. Before concluding the journey, we stop at a craft shopping center, where participants can purchase unique souvenirs that support local artisans and their communities. The day ends with heartfelt goodbyes as participants are dropped off, taking with them lasting memories and a deeper connection to conservation and community well-being.
